India Will Airlift Its Nationals From Strife Torn Yemen : Sushma Swaraj

In the wake of recent crisis in Yemen, Indian Government will airlift its nationals from the strife torn nation. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Sunday said in a tweet that permission to fly from Yemen’s capital Sanaa for three hours a day has been obtained.

She said this slot will be used for evacuating Indian nationals daily. In addition to this, an Indian ship with a capacity of 1500 passengers is also being sent there.

Situation in the country is turbulent as Saudi warplanes carry out air raids against Shiite rebels.

The Indian Ambassador to Yemen, Amrit Lugun said that all Indian nationals in that country are safe and they are not under the target of any group.

Logun said that arrangements have been made to evacuate the Indians from the strife-torn nation.
