Ink Attack: Bhavna In 14-Day Judicial Remand

Bhavna Arora, who threw ink on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was Tuesday remanded to 14 days judicial custody.

Closed door proceedings were held in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Sunil Kumar.

The 26-year-old Bhavna, who had alleged that Kejriwal was involved in a CNG scam, said, she had “proof in the form of a CD.”

Police contended that they are trying to find if she has been involved in any similar cases and investigate the possible involvement of other persons.Bhavna threw ink on Kejriwal while he was addressing a thanksgiving rally at Chhatrasal Stadium on Sunday on the success of the odd-even car rationing trial. The Aam Aadmi Party had smelt a conspiracy behind Bhavna’s entry to the podium after breaching police security.

It slammed the Delhi Police for inadequate security at the venue and called for a probe into the breach.Bhavna was booked for alleged offences under sections 186 (obstructing public servant) and 353 (assault or criminal force) of the IPC.Police Commissioner B S Bassi dismissed the AAP charge.

Bassi told reporters, ”There is no question of entering into any conspiracy with anybody to cause any harm to any person who is given special security by us, including the Delhi CM.”Delhi Police, the police chief affirmed, was committed to providing security to every citizen of the national capital and there was no lapse and the required security cover was in place.
