IPL-8 Auction : Yuvraj Singh sold for record Rs.16 crore

Cricketer Yuvraj Singh was Monday bought for a record sixteen crore rupees by Delhi Daredevils in the auction for 8th edition of IPL.
Yuvraj, who carried a base price of two crore rupees, was sold for the highest ever price in IPL history. Delhi Daredevils also bagged Sri Lankan player Angelo Mathews for seven and a half crore. The auction was held in Bengaluru.
Wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik went to Royal Challengers Bangalore for ten crore fifty lakh. Murali Vijay was bought for three crore by Kings XI Punjab. Surprisingly, former England captain Kevin Pietersen could get just two crore rupees as he was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad at the base price. He was bought for nine crore last year by Delhi Daredevils.
