JD (U) Suspends MLA Sarfaraz Alam For Abusing Couple In Train

Ruling JDU in Bihar Saturday suspended it MLA Sarfaraz Alam form the party following charges of molestation and misbehaving with a woman passenger travelling in Delhi bound Guwahati- Rajdhani Express train.
The incident took place on 17th of this month in the train when it was passing through Bihar. Patna Railway police is interrogating Alam on the basis of complaint lodged by the victinm.
The party took the stringent step of suspending the minister following the raging controversy over misbehaviour by him with the woman passenger.
State president of JD(U) Vashishtha Narain Singh told mediapersons here that party would not tolerate any such activity from anyone and a decision to suspend Alam was taken at a high level meeting of party leaders chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence.
Singh, responding to a query on Avadhesh Mandal, husband of Rupauli JD(U) MLA Beema Bharti, who had escaped from lock up from police station and later was re-arrested, said that action would also be taken in this case and administrative report was awaited.
The role of Ms Bharti in facilitating the escape from police station is under scanner.
A case in this connection was lodged by Bedi at GRP Patna.
Meanwhile, RJD President Lalu Prasad and State JDU President Vashisht Narayan Singh said Sarfaraz Alam has malign the image of the party.
Sarfaraz Alam is an MLA from Jokihat Assembly constituency of Araria district of the state. He is the son of fornmer Union Minister Mohd. Taslimuddin.
