Jharkhand Govt. Declares Entire State As Drought Hit

The Jharkhand government has declared the entire state as drought hit.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting in Ranchi Tuesday in view of less rainfall this year and loss of crops.
The state Cabinet also decided to send the report to the Centre and request it to send a team to Jharkhand for assessment of drought in the state.
Recently the state Agriculture department in it’s report, had said that 64 blocks of the state have suffered fifty percent loss in crops and anther 62 blocks had suffered 40 percent loss.
In the entire state, it has been estimated by the state agriculture department that rice (dhan) crops has suffered 37.7 percent, Makka crops by 27.06 percent and dalhan crops by 16.85 percent this year.
