Karnataka Excise Minister resigns over sex scandal allegations

Karnataka Excise Minister H Y Meti, who was allegedly involved in a sex CD scandal, Wednesday tendered his resignation to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Meti told media that his resignation has been accepted by the Chief Minister.

Replying to questions from media, he denied his involvement in any sex scandal and said that he had tendered his resignation on moral grounds.

Letter, Siddaramaiah, in a tweet message said that he has accepted Meti’s resignation and sent it to the Governor with recommendation to accept it. The Governor also accepted the resignation.

The chief minister said that he has not pressurized Meti to resign, and at the same time he ordered an enquiry into the issue.

During the last three days the reports about the alleged sex scandal in which a woman had claimed that Meti was involved in sexual act with her in a government office recently. Mr. Meti had been denying the charge vehemently.
