Kavinder Gupta Elected Speaker Of J&K Assembly Unopposed,

Kavinder Gupta was Wednesday elected unopposed the Speaker of the 12th Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir . The Budget session of the J&K Assembly began today , Wednesday.

Gupta is the BJP MLA from Gandhinagar constituency of Jammu region.

The motion was moved by State Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Basharat Bukari and seconded by Dy. Chief Minister Nirmal Kumar Singh.

The Budget session of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly began today Wednesday . The 23-day Session started with the Governor’s address to Legislature. The House sittings will continue till April 9. The budget will be presented on March 22.

The maiden session of the Mufti Sayeed-led PDP-BJP government, is expected to be very stormy and uproarious in view of the issues like AFSPA, Afzal Guru and Article 370, likely to be raised by various parties targeting the government.
