22 April, New Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday accused the NDA government of being anti-farmer.

Addressing a pro farmer rally against the Land Bill at Jantar Mantar this afternoon, Kejriwal said the Land Ordinance has been brought in for rich people.

Saying that Ordinances are meant for emergencies, he asked what was the need for an Ordinance on Land Bill. The AAP Convenor said he will not let land to be taken away from farmers in Delhi without their consent.

Meanwhile, in a shocking development, a man tried to commit suicide at the rally by trying to hang himself from a tree. AAP volunteers climbed the tree and brought him down following which he was admitted to a hospital.

Farmers from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh are taking part in the rally to register their protest against the Land Bill.
