Kejriwal dozes off during PM’s speech

15 August, New Delhi

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi was delivering his speech from Red Fort on the occasion of 70th Independence Day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was filmed dozing off during the address.

Kejriwal, who was seated in the VVIP enclosure next to VIPs like senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, was caught by cameras dozing in between the PM’s address.

As reactions started pouring in on various social sites, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia took to micro-blogging site Twitter to explain Kejriwal’s dozing off in between the speech. “Looks like, the speech of PM Modi was boring,”Sisodia tweeted.

The Kejriwal-led government in the national capital and the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre have been at loggerheads since the party came to power in February last year.Recently, a High Court judgement gave Jung supremacy over the administrative powers in the city, viewed as a setback to Kejriwal.
