Keralam: Congress Legislature Party to meet tomorrow to discuss ministerial positions

In Keralam, the Congress Legislature Party is set to meet on Thursday morning, according to KPCC president Sunny Joseph. However, along with the formal meeting, detailed consultations by observers from the All India Congress Committee with newly elected MLAs also will progress.
Parallel talks will also be held with other constituent parties of the UDF regarding ministerial positions.
UDF’s legislature party will be held only after these discussions. The chosen leader will then stake claim to form the government by meeting the Governor.
Meanwhile, Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar, who also holds additional charge of Tamil Nadu, is currently in Chennai. The UDF leader is expected to meet the Governor only after his return from Chennai.
Among the prominent Congress leaders elected this time are current Leader of the Opposition V. D. Satheesan, former Opposition Leader and ex-KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, and KPCC chief Sunny Joseph. Another prominent Senior Congress leader K. C. Venugopal, however, is currently a Member of Parliament.
