KPCC Makes Re-entry Into Original Party Office After Gap Of 46 Years

Ruling Congress in Karnataka made re-entry’ into its original party office on the Race Course Road after a gap of 46 years.

A legal battle lasting 23 years had resulted in Supreme Court asking H D Deve Gowda-led Janata Dal (Secular) to vacate the office as it rightfully belonged to the Congress marking the H D Deve Gowda-led party lost the iconic place to its arch rival Congress.

An apex court bench, headed by Justice K S Radhakrishnan,had upheld the Karnataka High Court’s verdict that the building belonged to KPCC.

After Congress split in 1969, the original party had lost the posession of the building built on one-acre plot in the heart of the city after it was occupied by Congress (O),Janata Party and other organs of the Janata Parivar, thereafter, until JD(S) held its position till last month.

KPCC president G Parameshwara today performed puja at theoffice presmises to mark the re-entry of the party.
