Kumar Vishwas Moves Delhi High Court Seeking Stay On Summons Issued By DCW

Hindi poet and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas Thursday moved the Delhi High Court seeking stay on the summons issued by the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) to him.

An AAP woman volunteer had alleged that her life was ruined because Vishwas was refusing to publicly deny “rumours” of their alleged affair.

The plea of Vishwas also sought direction that the woman, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteer, be restrained from giving public statements on the issue.

The woman, who took part in Vishwas’s campaign in the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency in the last 2014 general election, went public in various media — newspapers and TV channels — asking Vishwas to deny “rumours” of their alleged affair. She took the matter to the DCW which summoned Vishwas for his response
