Leander Paes in doubles final of Busan Open

Top seeded Leander Paes of India and Sam Groth of Australia advanced to the doubles final of the $ 100,000 Busan Open Challenger Tennis Tournament after beating Korean pair of Ji Sung Nam and Min-Kyu Song 6-3, 6-4 in doubles semi-final in one hour and four minutes.

In the second semi-final, Indian pair of Raja and Sharan, seeded third, were beaten twin brothers second seeded Sanchaai Ratiwatana and Sonchat Ratiwatana of Thailand who won by 6-4, 6-2 in one hour and four minutesPRERENA BHAMBRI IN SEMIS: Top seed Prerna Bhambri of India adavanced to the singles semi-final after beating qualifier Adina Jaqueline Cristian of Roumania 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the quarter-final of the $ 10,000 ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament at Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) on Friday.

The match lasted two hours and 13 minutes.Prerena led 3-0 after breaking Cristian in the second game of the first set. However, Cristian rallied and broke Prerna in the fifth and seventh games to win the set at 6-4. Cristian again took a 2-0 lead as she broke Prerna in the first game of the second set. Prerena made it 2-2 by gaining break in the fourth game. Cristian and Prerena broke each other’s service in the fifth and sixth games before the Indian player clinched the set at 6-4.

In the deciding set, Prerna led 2-0 by breaking her rival in the second set and won her service game to make it 3-0. Cristian broke Prerna in the in the seventh game and made it 4-4 by holding her serve in the eighth game. The Indian player served out the set at 6-4 for a well-earned victory.Nidhi Chilumula and Rishika Sunkara combined well to beat Ram Moulika of India and Tamachan Momkoonthod of Thailand by 7-5, 6-4 to barg into the doubles final in one hour and 17 minutes.
