LIC officials, employees take part in’ Health walk’

More than 500 officials and Employees of Life Insurance Corporation of India took part in the 1.5 km health walk in connection with the 60 years celebration of LIC and also the Insurance week, here Sunday.
The Health walk, flagged off by South Central Zone Zonal Manager T C Susheel Kumar, started fromPeople’s Plaza at Necklace road and concluded at Saifabad where employees got their health checked up.
Kumar talking to reporters said the LIC had played a significant role in spreading life insurance among the masses and mobilization of people’s money for their welfare. LIC, which celebrates the Diamond Jubilee Year was dedicated to the nation.
Starting with an initial capital of Rs.5 Crore in 1956, LIC today has assets of more than Rs.22 lakh crore.
LIC’s current market share was over 76 per cent, Mr Susheel said the leading South Central Zone covers the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
In 2015-16 we have opened satellite offices in Gangadhara of Karimnagar division (Telangana), Amaravathi of Machilipatnam division (Andhra Pradesh), he said, adding that LIC had also opened the paperless e-satellite office at Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) for catering to the need of people covered under various Government Group schemes.
