Maharashtra Govt forms high-level committee to track MoUs

Maharashtra government has constituted a high-level committee headed by Chief Secretary Swadheen Kshatriya to ensure proper implementation of Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs)signed the during the ‘Make in India’ week here recently.

“The committee will decide the modalities of the MoUs as there were over 2,500 MoUs and it is not possible for the high-powered committee to take a review and monitor all of them, so we have decided to bifurcate MoUs on the basis of expected investment and the jobs generated,” Kshatriya said here Saturday.

The large MoUs in terms of investment and jobs will be handled by the high-powered committee, while the rest will be taken care by the sub-committees and also by principal secretaries of the departments concerned, under the high-powered committee, he aded.

The state government had hosted the Make in India week from February 13 to 18, this year, in which more than 2500 MoUs were signed in different sectors, which will bring investment of around Rs 8 lakh crore and will generate over 30 lakh employment in the state.
