Make In India Week To Be Flagship Event Aimed At Propelling Indian Economy

Make in India week will be a flagship event that is aimed at propelling the Indian economy by forging enormous global engagement with Indian industries.

Speaking at the Make in India road show in Jaipur today Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Joint Secretary, Ms Kalpana Awasthi said that with the backdrop of world’s fastest growing economy ‘Make in India Week’ will showcase the potential of design, innovation and sustainability across country’s focus sectors.

Ms Awasthi said five-day event from February 13 to 18 in Mumbai will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it will focus on sectors like defence and aerospace, automobile and auto components, chemicals and petrochemicals, construction equipment, materials and technology, food processing, infrastructure development, IT and Electronics, Industrial Equipment and Machinery, Pharmaceuticals, Textiles and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. As a part of the week there will be a number of activities including Asia Business Forum, Sectoral seminars, country sessions, B2B, G2G and G2B meetings, informed Ms Awasthi.

On the occasion, Commissioner (Investment & NRIs), Bureau of Investment Promotion, Dr Samit Sharma said that Rajasthan is committed to play its part in fulfilling the ‘Make In India’ initiative.

The State has already taken several steps to ground manufacturing led investment in the State. One of the key initiatives by the State was to launch investment focused policies like: Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS), MSME Policy, Tourism Unit Policy, Solar Policy, Agro-Processing Policy and others.

The roadshow was attended by the prominent industrialists of the tate. It was followed by an interactive session as well.
