MIAL CEO Jain Cosen For CA Business Leader-Corporate Award For 2015
19 January, Mumbai
Rajeev Jain, chief executive officer (CEO) of Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (MIAL), will be conferred the ‘CA Business Leader-Corporate Award for the 2015’ by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Jain was chosen from a pool of nominations that included presidents, chairmen, managing directors, directors, CEOs, chief operating officers and other high-ranking executives from several different industries.
The honour is awarded every year in acknowledgement and appreciation of the hard work, dedication and professional accomplishments of the winner, an official release here today stated.
Jain, who joined MIAL as president in the year 2006, was elevated to the position of CEO in 2011. He was instrumental in making the Mumbai airport as one of the best airports in the world, to consistently delight customers and to be the pride of Mumbai, besides establishing key processes within the organisation, drivingbusiness growth and leading people.
Jain successfully spearheaded the expansion project of Terminal 2, which was aimed at augmenting capacity, achieving operational excellence and efficiency, improving passenger satisfaction and increasing revenue both aeronautical and non-aeronautical.
Under his supervision, Terminal 2 expanded its capacity two-fold within the same available area, making it a marvel of engineering, design and planning. His unwavering commitment to excellence resulted in a significant increase in the airport service quality (ASQ) rating for Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, from 3.27 in the year 2006 to 4.96 in the year 2015.
Over the past couple of years, CSIA has transformed from being just another airport to one of the finest in the world, acclaimed as much for its design as for the unique passenger-friendly services — notably the Pranaam GVK Guest Services and the GVK Lounge.
CSIA has also come to the forefront of technology and innovation amongst Indian airports, launching its own indoor application for passengers, a cargo portal and app for its trade partners, the release added.
