Modi challenges Rahul Gandhi to show ‘real’ face of Congress on cow protection issue
Chhindwara, November 18:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday dared Congress president Rahul Gandhi to show the ‘real’ face of his party vis-a-vis the policies on cow protection. Addressing an election rally here, Mr Modi said he has no quarrel with Congress when it speaks about the importance of cow protection in Madhya Pradesh but hastened to add that why the grand old party has different policies on the issue in states like Kerala.
“While you speak of cow protection in Madhya Pradesh, why in Kerela Congress workers get photographed taking beef and trying to claim that it is their birth right,” Mr Modi said.
Chhindwara is a known political bastion of Congress Madhya Pradesh chief Kamal Nath, who has been winning the parliamentary seat here for as many as nine terms.
Mr Modi directed his tirade against Kamal Nath and described him as “parivar ke sabse barey darbari (a prominent courtier before Nehru-Gandhi family)”.
“He is their courtier since the time of Emergency…..Had you been little loyal to the people ofChhindwara than the family, things would have been different and people would have been proud of you,” he said.
Prime Minister claimed that contrary to the claims by Congress leaders most developmental works even in this parliamentary seat came during the stint of BJP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
“I challenge all Congress candidates and their big leaders here, that if there is any comparison, the 15 years of BJP performance will come better than 55 years of Congress rule,” Prime Minister said.
