More Emphasis On Rural Air Connectivity In New Aviation Policy : Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju

Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ashok Gajapathi Raju has said that rural air connectivity will be given more emphasis in the New Civil Aviation Policy, that is being prepared.

Addressing a seminar on civil aviation organized by the Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Port Blair today, he said, about 32 smaller airports in the country have not witnessed any landing or take off for over a year.

The Minister said the Government would make efforts to resume operations in them.

Gajapathi Raju also informed, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation is all set to give its approval for night landing facility in the Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair.
