More than five crore 46 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the country so far

New Delhi, March 25

The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed five crore 46 lakh. These include over 80 lakh Health Care Workers who have taken the 1st dose and around 51 lakh Health Care workers who have taken the 2nd dose. Over 85 lakh frontline workers have taken 1st dose and around 33 lakh frontline workers have also taken 2nd dose.

The Ministry said, more than two crore 42 lakh beneficiaries aged more than 60 years and over 54 lakh 31 thousand beneficiaries aged more than 45 years with specific co-morbidities were vaccinated till date. The Union Health Ministry said, more than 15 lakh 20 thousand vaccine doses were given till 7 PM today.

Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is over three lakh 95 thousand which comprises only 3.35 per cent of the total positive cases. A total number of 53 thousand 476 new cases have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours taking the cumulative positive cases to over one crore 17 lakh.

The Health Ministry said, 251 deaths have been reported during the last 24 hour taking the toll to one lakh 60 thousand 692 across the country. The Indian Council of Medical Research said that more than 10 lakh 65 thousand tests of corona virus samples have been done during the last 24 hours and more than 23 crore 75 lakh tests have been conducted in the country so far.
