Moving RS Chairman for Sharad’s disqualification soon: JD(U) gen secy Tyagi
28 August, New Delhi
JD(U) General Secretary KC Tyagi said here today that the party was going to seek disqualification of its rebel leader Sharad Yadav from Rajya Sabha membership.
”The petition is being prepared and it will be placed before the Chairman of the Upper House very soon,” Tyagi told UNI.
Mr Yadav has incurred disqualification by participating in the programme, of a rival party, if one went by what the 10th Schedule of the Constitution says, the JD(U) general secretary said.
The rebel JD(U) leader yesterday joined the RJD rally, despite the Nitish faction of the party repeatedly cautioning him against it.
Tyagi cited some past instances like when Mufti Mohammad Saeed and Satpal Malik were disqualified as Congress member after they formed the Jan Morcha.
On yesterday’s rally of Lalu Prasad’s RJD, the JD(U) general secretary said that there was no socio-economic agenda of the gathering except the criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Moreover, there was no pragmatic programme for a grand alliance at the national level, and some important section of the Opposition like the Left and the BSP chief Mayawati gave the rally a miss, he said.
Sharad Yadav had parted ways with Bihar chief minister and JD(U) chief after the latter left the grand alliance in the state and formed government with the help of the BJP. Kumar later joined the NDA.
