Mufti Mohammed Sayeed Stands By Comments On Peaceful Poll in J&K

A day after his remarks on peaceful poll in J&K that triggered a row the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Monday said that he stood by his comments and accused that some people are exaggerating it.

Mufti told reporters in Jammu that he means that Pakistan and Hurriyat have recognised and understood that destiny of Kashmiri people lies in the right of the vote that has been granted to them by the constitution of India.

Meanwhile a group of eight PDP MLAs made a statement for the media today that the party always maintained that Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru’s hanging was travesty of justice and the party stands by the demand for the return of his mortal remains.
