Murder Case filed Against Security Forces For killing Youth During Bandh In Kashmir Valley

Jammu and Kashmir police Saturday registered a murder case against security forces who opened fire during a demonstration at Narbal in which a teenager was killed today, when hardline Hurriyat Conference had called for a general strike against the Tral killings.
A police spokesman said an FIR has been registered in police station Magam and further action would follow. Giving details about the incident, he said this morning in Magam area there were reports of stone pelting on vehicles plying on Narbal-Gulmarg road.
Police along with paramilitary police was deployed to contain the situation.
However, to control the situation security forces fired few rounds resulting in injuries to a local youth namely Suhail Ahmad Sofi. But he later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The spokesman said, We regret the unfortunate incident and extend our sympathies to the bereaved family. Preliminary enquiry conducted in the matter indicates that the forces deployed have acted in violation of the laid down SOP.
District administration has ordered magisterial inquiry into the incident and case registered in the concerned police station.
