My Tweets Were Misinterpreted , Not Going To Resign : Union Minister VK Singh

Minister of State for External Affairs Gen VK Singh, who has courted a controversy by tweeting ”disgust” after attending the Pakistan National Day function, attended by Kashmiri separatists last evening, clarified that he was not going to resign and his tweets were misinterpreted.

Gen Singh also said that he remains committed to the party and nobody had asked him to resign.

His clarification came amidst reports that his party had asked him to quit.

The Mos External Affairs said at a press conference here Tuesday night that what he meant to say on twitter was that he was feeling disgusted with the way a section of the media had misinterpreted the whole issue.

Addressing reporters at the Pakistan High Commission function last evening, Singh had told reporters that he had come to attend the celebrations as he had been told to do so.

His tweets after the dinner caused much embarrassment to the government on a day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif and made a case for resolving all issues between the two countries through peaceful dialogue
