Nagaland Govt. decides To Hand Over Lynching Of Rape Accused Case To CBI

Nagaland Government has decided to hand over the investigation of the lynching of a rape accused in judicial custody by a mob at Dimapur, to the Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI.

In an emergency Cabinet meeting Wednesday held under Chairmanship of the Chief Minister, T.R Zeliang, the State Cabinet deliberated on the situation which arose out of the incident.

Considering the widespread attention invited by the incident nationally and internationally, and demands made by several organizations, and also due to involvement of large number of people in the incident, the Cabinet decided to hand over the case to CBI.
