Najeeb Jung meets PM; No politics over Guv’s resignation, says Rijiju

Dlhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, who resigned yesterday, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi Friday.

Political parties had expressed surprise over sudden resignation of Mr Jung. Parties like Congress demanded an explanation from Centre reason behind the unceremonious exit of Mr Jung.

Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said there should be no politics over Jung’s resignation. Mr Jung resigned yesterday with 18 months left in his tenure, saying he wants to return to his first love, academics.
