NALCO To Invest Rs 5600 cr In Refinery Project At Damanjodi, Odisha

Public Sector Navaratna Company NALCO will invest Rs 5,600 crore for its 1MTPA Alumina Refinery project at Damanjodi, Union Secretary for Mines Balbinder Singh said here Monday.
The NALCO Board has accorded approval for setting up of 5th Stream of 1 MTPA capacity in existing Alumina Refinery at Damanjodi .The project is envisaged with Medium Pressure Digestion Technology.
Mr Singh, who called on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here, said he had come to thank the Chief Minister for allocating Patangi bauxite mine to NALCO.
The company has been pursuing the Union government for the allotment of Pattangi Bauxite mines for quite sometimes now.
The Union Secretary said NALCO had offered to provide 50,000 tons of Alumina for the Alumina park being developed by Odisha Industrial Development Park at Angul.
The project Singh said would generate potential for huge investment.
He said the Union government had also allocated Utkal D and E coal blocks to NACLO.
The Company will invest another Rs 2,000 crore in coal project in next two years .
