National Commission For Scheduled Caste Seeks ATR From Punjab Govt. On Moga Molestation issue

The logjam in the Moga molestation and subsequent death of a teenaged Dalit girl is continuing as her family is not ready to cremate her in want of action against the owners of the Orbit bus service and cancellation of its permit.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal has ordered that the Orbit buses to be off the road with immediate effect. Punjab Chief Minister’s media advisor Harcharan Bains has confirmed to AIR that Mr. Badal has asked the company to send staff on orientation course and no bus should be on road till the completion of the course.
In the meantime, Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Caste Dr. P.L. Punia, who visited the injured mother of the deceased girl in Moga hospital asked to register a case against the bus owners for keeping the windows of the bus tinted against the orders of the Supreme Court of India.
He also asked for security cover to the family as demanded by them. Vice Chairman of the Commission Rajkumar Verka has asked the Moga Deputy Commissioner to file an action taken report on the whole episode within three days.
Punjab Pradesh Congress President Partap Singh Bajwa has sought the resignation of the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for lacking courage to go personally to meet the poor family to expresses condolences even after three days of her death.
In a press statement, Bajwa said none from the Badal family including his son and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal and daughter-in-law and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal met the family and assured justice.
