Naveen announces seventh pay commission for govt employees from Jan 1,2016

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced to implement the recommendation of the seventh pay commission for the government employees from January 1, 2016.

Making the announcement Tuesday evening  Patnaik said ”My government has decided to implement the recommendations of the committee constituted for examinations of seventh central pay commission report and its adoption for the state government employees.”

The Chief Minister said about 4.5 lakh state government employees and 3.5 lakh retired government employees would get the enhanced emoluments and higher pension respectively. The government employees will get the enhanced pay hike from September 1, 2017.

The employees will get the enhanced pay on September 26 as the puja holidays commence on September 27. The implementation of the recommendations of the seventh pay commission would cost an additional Rs 4500 crore per annum to the state exchequer.
