NC: Floral carpet to welcome Modi

In a rare gesture, the Reception Committee for the National Council of the BJP scheduled to begin here on September 23, would create a ‘Pookkalam’ (floral carpet) to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tomorrow.

Titled ”Modikkoru Pookkalam Modiyiloru Pookkalam,” (floral carpet for Mr Modi in style), the 36 ft diameter multi-colour carpet would be created in Manachira Square in the city, the committee sources today informed.

BJP state General Secretary M T Ramesh would start the creation of carpet at 0700 hrs and it will be completed at 1000 hrs, they said.

Eminent Malaylam film actor Vidhubala would be present on the occasion, they added.
Apart from the PM, all the Central and state Ministers and top party functionaries from across the country would attend the three-day meet.
