NCP Will Vote Against Land Ordinance In Rajya Sabha

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar today said that his party will not support the land ordinance in its present form as it does not favour removal of several crucial clauses and will vote against it in the Rajya Sabha.

Speaking to media persons in Mumbai Wednesday Pawar said the government can get the land ordinance passed in the Lok Sabha given its absolute majority but will find it difficult in the Rajya Sabha.

Pawar alleged that both centre and Maharashtra government failed to provide proper help to farmers who are still devastated following the untimely rain and other recent natural calamities.

Pawar also questioned the priorities of the Narendra Modi government in the field of Agriculture and Industry.

He said if the purchasing power of 65 per cent of the population is weakened, it will affect the industrial sector and it would result in downsizing of jobs.

Commenting on recent ban on beef imposed by Devedra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra, Pawar accused that the move aims create religious rift.
