NDA Govt. Extends PDS Kerosene And Domestic LPG Subsidy Scheme Till

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, CCEA has given its nod to extend the PDS Kerosene and Domestic LPG Subsidy Scheme, 2002 for a period of one year that is up to 31st March this year. The Freight Subsidy Scheme, 2002 which is for far-flung areas has also been extended for the same period. The Wednesday’s  decision  by the Union Cabinet  will help in reducing the under-recovery of the Oil Marketing Companies. The Government was providing a subsidy of 22 rupees 58 paise per 14.2 kg. LPG cylinder and 82 paise per litre on PDS Kerosene and Domestic LPG Subsidy Scheme. Besides, freight subsidy was also being provided to PDS Kerosene and Domestic LPG consumers in far-flung areas under the Freight Subsidy Scheme, 2002. These two schemes ended on 31st March, 2014.
