NDA Govt. To Move 9 Amendments To Ensure Smooth Passage Of Land Bill In Parliament

The NDA Government will move nine amendments to the Land Acquisition Bill Tuesday to ensure its smooth passage in Parliament.

According to sources, the government will remove social infrastructure projects from the exempted categories and restrict acquisition of land within one kilometre on the both sides of railway tracks and highways.

The government will also move amendment for states creating land banks of vacant plots for acquisition for development projects.

The amendment includes hassle free mechanism for redressal of grievances of land loser and mandatory employment for even farm labourers affected by land acquisition.

The government will do away with the provision of moving High Court for appeals against land acquisition and allow people to approach authorities within the district first for redressal.
