Nepal-India defence cooperation interdependent: PM Modi

India Thursday said security interests of India and Nepal are inter-linked and inter-dependent and cooperation in Defence and Security sectors is an important feature of their partnership.
In joint press statement after holding delegation level talks with visiting Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on close cooperation between defence and security agencies of the two countries to prevent misuse of open borders.
Modi said Prime Minister Deuba and he have agreed to further extend people to people relations through skill development and capacity building initiatives by better connectivity and developing Budhhist and Ramayana tourism circuits.
Modi said, four of the eight MoUs which were signed today will take forward India’s promise of one billion dollar assistance for reconstruction work post earthquake in Nepal.
The Prime Minister said India and Nepal have agreed on several economic connectivity and development projects to carry forward the partnership for the development of the neighbouring country.
Modi expressed confidence that Nepal under the able and experienced leadership of Mr Deuba will be able to successfully implement its Constitution accommodating aspirations of all its citizens.
Saying that India will extend all possible assistance to Nepal to deal with flood situation, Mr Modi said he and Mr Deuba have agreed to strengthen coordination and consultation for flood control and think of its long term solution keeping in view interest of the two countries.
On trade relations, Mr Modi said the two countries have agreed to further expand trade relations which is not only in the interest of the people of the countries but also essential for regional prosperity.
In his press statement, Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said, relations between India and Nepal are comprehensive binded by culture and civilisation.
Deuba said, there are vast opportunities for India in Nepal regarding trade and water resources. He said, Nepal will resolve all the issues and adopt its Constitution at the earliest.
Earlier, the two countries, inked eight Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) in various fields. The two leaders also jointly inaugurated the Kataiya-Kusaha and Raxaul-Parwanipur cross border Transmission lines.
Deuba arrived in the national capital yesterday on a five day state visit to India. A high-level delegation is accompanying the Nepalese Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Deuba was accorded ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning.
Later speaking to media at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Deuba said, a close neighbor India has helped Nepal in its development efforts and he will request Prime Minister Modi to support more.
He also visited Rajghat and paid tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
This is Mr Deuba’s first visit abroad after assuming the office of Prime Minister of Nepal in June this year.
Apart from official engagements in New Delhi, Deuba will also visit Hyderabad, Tirupati and Bodh Gaya. In recent years Indo-Nepal relationship has witnessed significant growth as high level exchange between both the countries has gained momentum.

Sexual exploitation case against Dera Sacha Sauda chie Tomorrow :Haryana, Punjab on high alert ahead of verdict

Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh is on high alert in view of the verdict to be pronounced by the Panchkula CBI court tomorrow, in a sexual exploitation case against Sirsa Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
Heavy security force have been deployed in sensitive areas of Punjab and Haryana.
The prohibitory orders have been issued under section 144 to restrict the movement of Dera followers as well as to keep the situation in control if verdict comes against Dera chief.Punjab government offices in Chandigarh and Haryan government offices in Panchkula will remain closed tomorrow as notified by the government of both states.
The schools, colleges and universities have also been closed in both states and Chandigarh.
A day ahead of expected verdict, Punjab and Haryana High Court today asked Haryana government to ensure security in the state and make arrangement to send back the Dera followers gathered at Panchkula.
The bench of Justice S S Srow, Justice Suryakant and Justice Avneet Jhingan, while hearing a Public Interest Litigation also asked Dera Sacha Sauda to appeal to its supporters to leave Panchkula.
The court was not satisfied with security arrangements and questioned how Dera followers reached Panchkula when section 144 was imposed.
The counsel for the Dera ensured the high court that peace would not be disturbed. The High court also asked the centre to ensure the required number of companies of paramilitary force reach by night.
Meanwhile, around 130 companies of paramilitary forces have reached in Punjab and Haryana and 37 more companies are about to reach.In Punjab only 87 companies have been deployed in the sensitive district, while 10 more companies are expected to reach. The Police force is also keeping vigil.
The movement of Pepsu Roadways Transport buses from Punjab to Haryana has been suspended.
Haryana has also suspended movement of buses between Delhi and Chandigarh. However Volvo buses from Chandigarh will continue to move.
The northern railway has also suspended movement of around 30 trains including Ambala-Nangal Dam, Bathinda- Ambala passenger, Bhiwani-Kalka Himalyan queen, Ambala-Kalka and Barner-Haridwar express.
Mobile internet services have also been suspended for 72 hours in both the states and their joint capital Chandigarh. The senior officers of police are keeping close eye on social media to check the rumours.
Meanwhile Ram Rahim Singh has said that he would appear in person before the special CBI court tomorrow and appealed to his followers to maintain peace.
