Nirmala Sitharaman’s husband recovering after heart surgery

Communications Advisor to the Andhra Pradesh government and Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s husband Parakala Prabhakar underwent a successful heart surgery here and is recovering, official sources said on Saturday.

The surgery was performed on Monday by a team of doctors led by Ramakant Panda at the Asian Heart Institute (AHI), a private hospital, the sources said.

Prabhakar is steadily recuperating after the operation and is likely to be discharged from the hospital in a few days, they said.

Prabhakar’s wife Nirmala Sitharaman, their daughter and other family members were present beside him, they said.
