Nitish calls on Nepal PM ; raises issue of flood in Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Thursday called on visiting Nepal PrimeMinister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and took up the issue of perennial floods in his statedue to discharge in upstream river-rivulets including the Kosi, from the neighbouring Himalayannation.

During his meeting with the Prime Minister here, Chief Minister Mr Kumar also deliberated on the religio-cultural affinity between Nepal and Bihar and invited him to pay a visit to the state for going to places like Rajgir and Baudh Gaya.

PM Prachanda assured that in next visit to India he would also tour to Bihar. Earlier, Mr Kumar reached in the capital today. In brief chat with media persons here, Mr Kumar sought to downplay in controversial issueof release from jail former RJD MP Shahabuddin and said the law would take its course inthe matter.

“In baaton ko tavajju nahin dete hum(I do not attach much importance to such issues”, hesaid. “Bas itna kehna chahta hoon ki kanoon apna kaam karta rahega(the law would take itscourse, that much I can assure)”, he added.
