Now Mulayam’s second wife talks politics

In an apparent indication of yet another bout of family feud in the offing in the first family of the Samajwadi party after assembly elections, Sadhna Gupta, the second wife of SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav has said that her son Prateek Yadav should enter politics and be elected to the Rajya Sabha.
Sadhna Gupta said,” I wish that the Samajwadi party is voted back to power and Akhilesh Yadav again takes over as the chief minister of UP.” She said “Akhilesh Yadav is being misguided by someone, he is a very kind hearted person and takes care of both the parents whenever there is some health or other problem. I don’t know who misled Akhilesh, he respects Netaji and me a lot. ”Ab hum peeche nahi hatenge, mera bahut apmaan hua hai . Netaji ne nahi aane diya, par haan background mein kaam karte rahe,” (I won’t step back now, I was insulted. Netaji did not allow me to come on the forefront but I kept working from behind the curtains), said Sadhna Gupta. ”I am not behind the feud in the family. Netaji and Shivpal Yadav were both humiliated and insulted during the feud in the party last year. I have told `netaji’ that I won’t wait any longer. I have no political ambitions and I want to engage in social work and for the poor and I want to see that Prateek enters politics and is elevated to Rajya Sabha,” Sadhna added.
She said ,”Shivpal Yadav is like son to Netaji who had seen very hard days of poverty when he uses to cover himself with durries during the winters. They should not have insulted Shivpal Yadav as he had done no wrong. When he was appointed as the state president of the party he was not even aware of that he was in Saifai on that day,” said Sadhna adding “ He should not have been insulted, he was not at fault. He has done a lot for Netaji and the party and I wish he is rehabilitated in the party in a respectable manner”.
On family feud, she said “nobody is responsible for the discord in the family, it’s only the stars and planetary influence and I regret that and it was very painful experience. I have looked after the entire family but the credit goes to Netaji as it was possible only because of him”.
Asked whether Akhilesh Yadav would return the post of the national president of the party to Mulayam Singh Yadav she said “ whatever anybody does is OK, but nobody should have insulted `Netaji’. I do not know whether Akhilesh would return the post of national president or not but Mulayam Singh Yadav is the leader and he will remain the leader of the party”.
