Odisha CM meets PM Modi, seeks more coal blocks allocation for state PSUs

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi and discussed various key issues pertaining to the state including allocation of two more coal blocks to Odisha Mining Corporation and alternate coal block to Odisha Thermal Power Corporation Limited instead of the present Tentuloi coal block.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, . Patnaik said the State has demanded conditional environmental clearance for mining projects in Odisha where final reports by National Environmental Engineering Research Institute are pending and sharing of Green Cess with the State Government at a ratio of 60:40.
He said during the discussion, the prime minister was appraised about an early initiation of bidding process for Ultra Mega Power Projects at Bedabahal in Sundargarh. Mr. Patnaik added that the prime minister appreciated the State’s concerns and assured to look into these matters at an early date.
