Odisha HC Grants Conditional Bail To Ruling BJD MLA Pravat Tripathy

The Odisha High Court Tuesday granted conditional bail to senior BJD leader and Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy, arrested by CBI in the multi-crore Artha Tatwa chit fund scam.

The court granted him bail on a Personal Bond of Rs 10 lakh and asked him to surrender his passport. The Odisha High Court also asked Tripathy to cooperate with the CBI in its investigation.

Tripathy’s bail plea had been earlier rejected by the special CBI court and the Khurda district and sessions court at Bhubaneswar.

He had also been denied anticipatory bail by the Odisha High Court before his eventual arrest on 31st October last year and was in jail for last four months.
