Odisha Sets A Target To Collect Rs 9013.56 Cr During 2015-2016

Odisha government has targeted to collect Rs 9013.56 crore during the current financial year, state Finance Minister Pradip Kumar Amat told the state Assembly Monday.

Replying to a question of Dr Rasheswari Panigrahi (BJD ), Mr Amat said by the end of October last a sum of Rs 3,902.58 crore had already been collected towards the state governments own non tax revenue which is 43.30 per cent of the target fixed for the collection of non tax revenue.

The minister said the non tax revenue collected till October last was 8.95 per cent more than the non tax-revenue collected during the same period last year.

The government mainly collects its own non tax revenue from interest receipts, dividend, water cess, mining revenue, water supply and sanitation tax, forest and wild life tax and other non tax.

Amat said till October last a sum of Rs 93.70 crore was collected towards interest receipt against the target of Rs 200 crore to be collected during the 2015-16 financial year.

The amount collected till October last is 46.85 per cent of the target of Rs 200 crore. A sum of Rs 128.19 crore was collected till October during the last financial year.

The revenue collected till October this year was 26.91 per cent less than the amount collected during the same period last year.

He said, during the 2015-16 financial year the government targetted to realise dividend of Rs 1,093 crore and got Rs 28.73 crore dividend till the October last. The state had got Rs 541.97 crore dividend by the end of October during the last financial year.

The minister said the government has targetted to collect Rs 75.90 crore from water supply and sanitation tax and collect Rs 34.71 crore by the end of October last.

He said, against the target of Rs 35 crore tax revenue from forest and wildlife during 2015-16 financial year a sum of Rs 72.22 crore had been realised till October last.BM
