One Rank and One Pension To Be Effective From April 1

Chief of Army staff General Dalbir Singh on Saturday said that the long pending demand of Armed Forces Veterans for One Rank and One Pension will be acceded shortly and implemented from April 1, 2014 with retrospective effect.

He was addressing a massive rally of Army Veterans at Jhajjar in Haryana.

Talking about the demands of the Veterans, he said that in view of the hardships faced by the soldiers in discharge of their duties, he has sought a handsome hike in their pay and allowances from the Prime minister.

Army Chief said that he has tied up with the Skill Development Ministry for Army retires to ensure their employment in the public and private sectors.
