Over 6 lakh patients treated in 100 days of Auyshman Bharat: Jaitley

Terming government’s scheme Ayushman Bharat a ‘game changer’ in healthcare, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday said, as many as 6.85 lakh poor patients have been provided free hospital treatment in the first 100 days of the launch of the programme.

Jaitley said, once awareness of the scheme increases, it is expected that in the next few years, almost one crore plus families will be benefited each year.

In September, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana which aims to provide coverage of five lakh rupees per family annually, benefiting more than over ten crore poor families.
