PM launches Pradhanmantri Ujjwala Yojana at Ballia in UP,Assures to Provide better life to Poor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the Pradhanmantri Ujjwala Yojana at Ballia in Uttar Pradesh.

The scheme aims to provide LPG connections without security deposit to 5 crore women from BPL households over the next three years.

It will use the money saved from 1 crore 13 lakh cooking gas users voluntarily giving up their subsidies. Launching the scheme, Modi distributed L.P.G. connections to ten women beneficiaries on the occasion.

Addressing a public meeting at Maldepur in Ballia, the Prime Minister said, Ballia is a revolutionary land which gave us freedom fighters like Mangal Pandey.

He expressed happiness that people have gathered in Ballia on Labour Day. Lauding the hardwork of all Shramiks, Mr Modi appreciated their role in the progress of India. He said, his government is committed for the poor.

Modi said, the NDA government is working a lot on labour related issues. He said, they have initiated a Shram Suvidha Portal that has helped the Shramiks of the nation.

The Prime Minister said, they will gain strength in the fight against poverty when fruits of development will reach the eastern part of the country.

Later today Modi will visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi also. During his more than six hours stay there, he will distribute 1,000 e-rickshaws and solar-powered e-boats to the beneficiaries. He will also attend a cultural programme Sham-e-Banaras at Assi Ghat before leaving for Delhi.

This will be the Prime Minister’s third tour of his parliamentary constituency since January this year.
