PM Modi asks Rajya Sabha members to help in passage of bills

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the members in Rajya Sabha to help the government in the passage of those bills passed in Lok Sabha as soon as possible.

Replying to Motion of Thanks to President’s address to Parliament in Rajya Sabha this afternoon, Modi said this will help in giving impetus to India’s progress.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to shift from incremental improvements to a quantum jump saying the government is working in this direction. Mr Modi said his government is focusing on accountability and he is reviewing infrastructure projects regularly.

Saying decentralisation is the third aspect of good governance, Mr Modi said emphasis is being laid on policy-driven governance and transparency. He said President’s counsel to Parliamentarians has worked well and both the Houses are functioning smoothly. The Prime Minister lauded the members for seriously participating in the discussion on the Motion.

He said there is a need to worry about lack of education facilities and overcome the challenges in this sphere. He also referred to a campaign about girl education which the Gujarat government used to carry on in the month June when he was Chief Minister.
