PM Modi Assures Jat Leaders To Find Out Solutions To Reservation Issue Within Legal Frame Work

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday said that the government will try to find a solution to Jat reservation issue within the legal framework .

He told this to a 70-member delegation of leaders of the community which met him in New Delhi to discuss the issue.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Minister of State for Agriculture, Sanjeev Balyan said, the government should file a review petition in the supreme court and also explore all options to extend the benefit to the community.

Haryana Minister O P Dhankar said, the community should be given reservation, the way Ahir and Gujjar community have been granted.

On 17th of this month, the Supreme Court had scrapped the reservation given to the community under OBC category.
