PM Modi: Govt won’t shy away from taking tough decisions to ensure bright future for India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday said, the government will not take decisions for short term political gains and will ensure India has a bright future.

Inaugurating the newly-built campus of SEBI’s National Institute of Securities Management, Modi said at Raigad that the government will not shy away from taking tough decisions.
On demonetisation of high-value notes, the Prime Minister said, there will be only short term pain due to the move, but the gain will be long term.

Modi also said, in less than 3 years, the government has transformed the economy. He said, in the time of global slowdown, India is being seen as a bright spot with growth projected to be highest in the world.

Modi added that India’s place as the fastest growing large economy has not come about by accident. The Prime Minister also said, Goods and Services Tax will soon be a reality. He also said, Foreign Direct Investment in the country is at record levels.

The Prime Minister said, the government is very keen to encourage start-ups and stock markets are essential for the start-up ecosystem. Modi said, his aim is to make India a developed country in one generation.
