PM Modi invites Russian companies to invest in India and collaborate with Indian industry

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Russian Companies to explore the opportunities in India and collaborate with Indian industry.
Addressing CEOs of important industries in St. Petersburg this evening, Modi said, trade, commerce, innovation and engineering are of immense importance in this era.

Appreciating Russian President Vladimir Putin’s role in enhancing India-Russia ties, the Prime Minister said, Defence is a key area where both countries can cooperate.

Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that India will formally become a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, SCO, in a week’s time. He thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for playing a pro-active role in getting India’s membership in the SCO.

Interacting with Mr.Putin in a closed meeting at Konstantine Palace in St.Petersburg this evening, Mr. Modi said, the relationship between the two countries was a time tested one, and is based on mutual trust. The Prime Minister thanked the President for being with India as history had witnessed that there had been no ups and downs in Indo-Russian relations.

President Putin said, both the countries shared friendship not only between themselves but also among thier people. He said that both the leaders will be meeting again at the SCO soon.

Mr.Modi further said that it was a momentous occasion at the cemetary of the World War Second, where he offered tributes to the martyrs including the brother of the President Putin. He also thanked Mr.Putin for the warm welcome given to him and the delegation.
