PM Modi, Japanese PM Takaichi hold talks, review strong bilateral partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Sanae Takaichi today held talks in New Delhi and reflected on the strong foundation of bilateral ties across multiple areas.
Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that both leaders recognised that this is a relationship of trust and trust was visible in abundance during the engagements today. He said today’s engagements have yielded good results in areas including energy security and economic security.
The Foreign Secretary said many of the outcomes finalised during the course of the Annual Summit fell in the areas of economic security. He said advanced technology and innovation were also a major focus of discussions today.
Mr Misri said, AI is emerging as a major sunrise sector in the cooperation between the two countries. He said next year marks the 75th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties and both sides will celebrate the year 2027 as India-Japan Year of Shared Horizons.
The Foreign Secretary informed that more than 120 Business to Business B2B MoUs have been signed since the Annual Summit last year. He said, both leaders also acknowledged the role that the Special Strategic and Global Partnership plays in ensuring peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
