PM Modi To Dedicate Rs.12,000 Cr. Modernization ,Expansion Project of Rourkela Steel Plant Wednesday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha’s Steel City of Rourkela tomorrow, April 1 coinciding the “Odisha Day”.
This will be Modi’s first visit to Rourkela as the Prime Minister .
According official sources , Modi will dedicate the Rs.12,000 crore expansion and modernisation project of the Rourkela Steel Plant to the nation. With the implementation of the new project, the production capacity would increase to 4.5 Million Ton Per Annum from 2 MTPA.
Most of the projects under the modernisation programme of the Rourkela Steel Plant that had begun in January, 2008 at a cost of 12,000 crore rupees.
A host of union BJP Ministers including Jual Oram, Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Ministere Naveen Patnaik would be present at the function
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to address a public meeting and attend some other functions including laying foundation stone of the expansion of the existing airstrip of RSP in the steel city at Rourkela.
Modi had addressed an election meeting at Rourkela on April 4 , 2014.
Meanwhile sources said that the upbeat BJP workers are mobilising workers from the entire state and four lakh “Laddos” are being prepared for a crowd of one lakh for distribution .
A thick security cover has been thrown over the Steel City in the wake of Prime Ministers Visit.
