PM Modi to inaugurate 91 FM transmitters including 7 in Odisha tomorrow to boost radio connectivity in India

All arrangements have been made for the inauguration of the seven 100 Watt FM transmitters ln Odisha as part of the inauguration of 91 FM Transmitters in one go across the country tomorrow by Prime Minister Narendra Modi .
The FM transmitters of 100 Watt will be inaugurated through video conferencing. These transmitters have been installed in 84 districts across 18 States and two Union Territories.
The seven FM LP transmitters in Odisha are located at Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Phulbani, Koraput, Koraput, Baragarh and Kendrapada .
The FM transmitters will boost radio connectivity in the country.
A special focus of the expansion has been on enhancing coverage in Aspirational Districts and in border areas.
According to I&B Ministry sources, the States and Union Territories which are covered include Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Ladakh.
With this expansion of All India Radio’s FM service, an additional 2 crore people, who did not have access to the medium, will now be covered. It will result in expansion of coverage in about 35 thousand sq km area.
The government has been committed to enhance FM connectivity in the country. The Prime Minister has been a firm believer in the important role which radio plays in reaching out to the masses. Mr. Modi started Mann ki Baat programme, which is now nearing its landmark 100th episode to harness the unique strength of the medium to reach out to the widest possible audience.
